Nike + iPod-- Meet your new personal trainer
Grab your iPod nano, iPod touch or iPhone 3GS, a pair of Nike+ shoes, and the Nike + iPod Sport Kit or Sensor. Put the sensor in your Nike+ shoe — there’s a built-in pocket specifically designed for it under the insole. Then connect the receiver to your iPod nano. iPod touch includes built-in support for Nike+, so no receiver is necessary. The sensor tracks your run, then sends the data to your iPod.
How to Use the Nike + iPod Sport Kit
Step 1:
Place the sensor in your left Nike+ shoe — in the built-in pocket beneath the insole. You can leave the sensor in your shoe even when you’re not working out.
Step 2:
Attach the receiver to your iPod nano. It fits snugly into the dock connector, located on the bottom of iPod nano next to the headphone jack. iPod touch has built-in Nike+ support, so no receiver is necessary.
Step 3:
Hit the ground running with workout-based voice feedback, Nike Sport Music content, and your favourite playlists or songs that keep you pumping.
Check out the Nike + iPod menu and choose how you want to run. You can use custom workout shortcuts to start your favourite workouts quickly. Try the open-ended workout or select one with time, distance or calorie goals. Then pick your favourite playlist, shuffle songs or choose Nike-created Sport Music. You can even program a PowerSong to play when you need instant motivation. As you run, your iPod or iPhone 3GS tells you your time, distance, pace and calories burned. And it gives you feedback at the halfway point and in the final lead-up to your goal. You can also see the details of your workout on your iPod or iPhone 3GS.
Sync
When your run is finished, connect your iPod nano, iPod touch or iPhone 3GS to your Mac or PC, and your workout data automatically syncs to nikeplus.com. Go there and see all your runs and share motivation with runners across the world.
Connect
Cool down, sync up, and see how far you’ve come. Just as seamlessly as it syncs your music, your iPod nano, iPod touch, or iPhone 3GS also syncs your runs and workouts. Just connect your iPod or iPhone 3GS to your Mac or PC, and iTunes automatically sends your workout data to nikeplus.com. There you’ll see every run and every workout you’ve completed. You can track your progress, set goals, connect with other runners, and challenge friends. Or if you're using the new built-in Pedometer on iPod nano, sync it to your computer to keep track of your daily steps and help meet your fitness goals.
