    Description

    This is a mandolin.
It is very old. This mandolin was built by Harmony, and is branded ‘Marcia’. According to the internet, the Marcia name was used on a line of Harmony-made instruments intended for distribution in Canada. There is a Harmony date stamp inside the body which reads ‘S 34’ (visible in a photo). This means that it was made in 1934.
The plastic pickguard is peeling up. A prior owner scratched the word 'Philadelphia' and some numbers on the back. Maybe that can be buffed out or filled. Everything looks original. There are the usual dings, dents & scratches expected on an 80 year old mandolin. It is missing one string, but would probably benefit from a new set anyway.
A rare piece of Harmony history for a collector or player.
This mandolin is more than 80 years old, so it is being sold ‘as-is’.
